Romantic Themes At Home
For a really romantic date all it takes is some imagination,
cardboard and paint (finger paint will do!). For our anniversary
I decided to recreate the romance of Paris, since he just came
back from a trip there. I cut out smaller replicas of the Eiffel
Tower and took the patio chairs from outside and lit candles and
played French music from downloads. You could even cook a dinner
that comes from a certain city or state/province. If his
favorite city is New York, you can make a mini Times Square,
Statue of Liberty and make some New York oriented foods. It's
fun for the both of you. -submitted by Ciera
Shooting Stars
Next time there is a meteor shower late at night, take your
honey out to watch it. Bring a blanket, some food and some
refreshments. Even if you don't see any real shooting stars, you
are prepared to make stars of your own! -submitted by Anonymous
Spontaneous Camping
The best date I've ever been on wasn't even planned at all. My
boyfriend and I are students at colleges about 2 hours away from
each other. He came up to spend the weekend with me and around
10 o'clock that night he asked me to gather up all of my
blankets and pillows and an alarm clock. We drove to a campsite
about an hour away and slept in the car all night. The alarm
went off just in time for us to catch the sunrise over the
beautiful scenery. Because it was February, it cost about $25.00
for the campsite and breakfast the next morning. -submitted by

Spoon Surprise
Here’s a little idea that'll cost you about $20 or so. Get
yourself a metal spoon and get your lover's name and your own
engraved on it. Give it to him/her in the beginning of a special
evening or whenever. And your significant other will most likely
think, "Uh, Yeah. A spoon. How cute." Now, at the end of the
evening, present her an ice cream Sunday that you've prepared or
bought, thus making the spoons use justified. -submitted by

Steal The Night Away
There was a period of time when my husband and I were spending
more time with our friends out drinking than with each other.
So, one night I said I would meet him downtown around midnight.
I threw some strawberries, plastic wine glasses, a very cheap
bottle of sparking wine, and the tent into the car. I met him at
our favorite pub and told him I had a surprise. I took him to a
campground right on the beach for $20. It was so romantic and we
definitely realized how much alone time meant. -submitted by

Surprise Evening
My boyfriend and I had been going out for 6 months and I had no
clue what do to celebrate because I only had a couple hours that
night to spend with him, (I was in the middle of exams) and I
wanted it to be amazing. He came over to my house that evening,
very tired after a long day. We sat down together just talking
and listening to music, when I got an idea. Keeping it to myself
so as to surprise him, I waited until he fell asleep. Once
asleep, I gave him a pillow and a blanket and let him have a nap
while I put the surprise evening into action. First, I cooked
our favorite meal for supper (spaghetti) and put it into a fancy
dish, placing it in the middle of the table, (to top it off, I
cut a heart out of a mozzarella cheese and put in the middle). I
fancied up the table with special china dishes and wine glasses,
and to drink I bought a bottle of non-alcoholic wine which I set
out. When it was all prepared, I went to my room and dressed up
in the fanciest evening dress I had and put my hair in an up-do.
Next, I wrote a little love note and put on his place at he
table, shut off all the lights, lit candles everywhere
(including 2 on the table), and turned on a CD of all slow love
songs. When I woke him up, smiling and looking around he was
amazed! We ate supper and then spent the rest of the night in
each other’s arms dancing in my living room by candlelight. We
both agreed it had to be one of the most special nights we ever
spent together and still to this day he doesn't stop talking
about how perfect it was and how beautiful I looked. -submitted

Tasty Romance
Men, cook your lady a meal. Invite her over one night, without
telling her that you're making dinner. It doesn't have to be
anything fancy, just a simple, warm, sincere meal. Then when she
gets there, be sure to have music playing, possibly candles lit,
and then for the rest of the evening just eat, talk, and relax.
Who knows where the evening could go from there... -submitted by

The Beach and a Book
Take your significant other to the beach, make your favorite
meal (picnic style), or even try new weird foods together, and
bring a book. Have them lay down and you read to them, take
turns if you want. If they have a favorite book bring that.

Thrift Shop If You Dare!
My husband and I went to a thrift store and with a maximum of
only $10, picked each other out an hideous outfit and are going
to wear them out to a diner. It's two cheap dates that are
hilarious. It's also an insight to see how cruel your partner
can be. -submitted by Amanda
To Be a Kid Again
I was once dating this really amazing guy and one of the most
memorable dates we ever had was when he picked me up from my
house and went to his apartment. We went to the pool there and
laid out in the sun and tanned. Later, we went to the bookstore
to browse then dinner and a movie. After all that we went back
to his place and it was pouring rain outside. We already had our
swimsuits on from tanning so I said, "Hey! Let's play in the
rain!" We went out and played tag, hide-n-seek, and we even mud
wrestled. It was something we both hadn't done in years and it
was very exciting! I've never forgotten and hopefully he hasn't
either. -submitted by Elizabeth |
