Weekend Away
It was our one year anniversary coming up and I had no idea what to do. I discussed it with some friends of mine and decided to take my love away for the weekend. I booked a chalet in a part of the country that we had never been to before, where he could do trout fishing and we could picnic under the stars. I then gave him an invitation not telling him where we were going just that he was invited away for the weekend. I then gave him an itinerary of what was in store for the weekend. Fishing with a picnic on Saturday, dinner and dancing Saturday night. Breakfast in bed Sunday morning. He was so surprised, and said that it was the best weekend ever. -submitted by Engelsman

Weekly Dinner Date
Every month we go out for dinner on the 20th, the day we said "I Do." When our 2 kids were little sometimes it might have only been McDonalds and other times we weren’t at home for one reason or other. This coming June, however, will be our 26th Wedding Anniversary, and by then we will have gone "Out to Dinner" 312 times on the 20th. -submitted by R.J.S.

Welcome Back Home
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years and I have a plan for what I want to do when he comes home. He's been away in the Marines for about 4 months now, and he'll be coming home about 3 days after our 2-year anniversary. I plan on picking him up from the airport with a C.D. of our songs playing in the car. When we go to his house, I will have a few presents for him. One will be a scrapbook of letters I've written to him throughout the past two years and since he’s been gone. On every other page, there will be a letter, and on the other pages, there will be things about him and our relationship that I love. I also plan on adding some part to it, the words "I love you" in multiple languages to it. I also plan on taking a great photo of the two of us and taking it to a photo shop downtown and having them enlarge it, and changing the colors and special effects, so I will have 4 different prints of it in one big frame. The last thing I want to do is make a movie for him (I got the idea from this site). I want to go to different people that are close to him and have them say what he means to them and how he’s changed them, or why they love him. I really hope (and think) he'll love this and it'll show him just how much he means to me! -submitted by Laura

Why I Will Continue to Love You
My boyfriend and I are not very romantic nor sentimental, but for our 2-year anniversary, I wanted to do something special. Our relationship has been very difficult due to circumstances beyond our control and lately he has been feeling pretty down on himself and doubting that I will wait for him. So, I wrote him a letter of reasons why my love for him grows everyday. I did not list a reason for everyday we have been together, instead, I highlighted reasons that my love for him will grow even stronger in the future, focusing on life events that we will share together later down the road such as our wedding day, and the birth of our first child. I think this is a great way to prove my love and dedication to him in an unconventional way. -submitted by Jessica

Yearly Predictions for Couples
We actually started this two years ago as our Christmas tradition, but it would be great for Valentine's Day as well. Towards the holiday, each one of you writes a letter to the other telling them the things that you are looking forward to in the coming year and put it in a cute bottle (with Christmas we use glass ornaments). These are kept sealed for a year. Then next year, on the holiday, you read the letter - it's sweet and romantic and fun to see what things were predicted for the two of you and to see how much did actually happen. It's a great way to reminisce about the year! For the first year you write one letter for the coming year, and one letter for you to read this year that can be about anything - we wrote about what that first year was like together and what our favorite memories were. -submitted by Nikki
